Meet Jun Bando, Our New Statewide CNPS Executive Director

Wednesday, January 25, 2023 — 7:30 pm

Speaker: Jun Bando
Register to attend (registration is necessary to join the meeting)

Jun Bando

This past October, Jun Bando, PhD, started in her role as executive director of the CNPS statewide organization. Dr. Bando is an ecologist with a 20-year career spanning higher education, international diplomacy, and advocacy. Most recently, Dr. Bando served as the Senior Advisor for Strategy and Transformation at the California Council for Science and Technology (CCST). Prior to her work with CCST, Dr. Bando served as a special advisor and diplomat for the U.S. government, a lecturer at San Jose State University and the University of San Francisco, and consultant to the CSU Office of the Chancellor. She earned her PhD in Ecology at the University of California, Davis, and her BS in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University.

Dr. Bando is originally from the South Bay, and she says, “My own journey to CNPS started decades ago, when I first fell in love with the natural world while exploring the creeks and oak woodlands of the South San Francisco Bay Area. My affinity for science and conservation led to a multidimensional career spanning higher education, international diplomacy, and advocacy.…Family and my core interest in conservation brought me back to California.”

Join us to get to know Dr. Bando. She’s looking forward to getting to know you: hearing your questions, stories, and thoughts about what’s most exciting in CNPS’s work.

Our CNPS East Bay speaker programs will be presented as online meetings until it is safe to gather in person. If you have questions, contact Sue at programs@ebcnps.org.
