Native Plant Extravaganza: plant sales and free talks

Saturday, March 25, 2023 — 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Native Plant Extravaganza takes place this Saturday, March 25, from 10:00-4:00.  See below for participating nurseries, free native plant gardening talks, and the best plants to include in your garden.

A percentage of the purchases made during the Extravaganza will go to support the Bringing Back the Natives Tour.

Shop in-person on Saturday, March 25, at:

      • 11:00 “Creating Community: Expert advice on how to choose the best companion plants for your personal garden” Stew Winchester, legendary instructor of horticulture and field identification of native plants

      • 12:00 “How to choose shrubs for your native plant garden: California lilac, manzanitas, sages, toyons, and more” by Pete Veilleux 
    • Oaktown Native Plant Nursery – 702 Channing Way, Berkeley—see Oaktown’s plant inventory here)
      • 2:00 Five California native plant medicines for the family garden” by Violet Moon; samples of medicines provided.

at Green Thumb Works—see Green Thumb Works’ plant inventory here. Shop online with Green Thumb on the weekend of March 25 and 26, and a percentage of your online purchases will go to support the Tour.
