First great rain year since opening to the public! Michael Heine, author of the recent Bay Nature Newly Opened Wildflower Lands piece and CNPS lead botanist is our volunteer leader and will lead us to grassland plant species, sandstone outcrops, oak woodlands, riparian habitat and one of the best viewsheds in the Bay from the top of Sunol Peak.
Details: 6-mile hike, likely to be strenuous. The pace will not be brisk but elevation gain is approximately 1700 ft in the first 3 miles. And those 3 miles will be in exposed grasslands.
