You are invited to this coming Sunday afternoon’s closing reception for the Pt. Molate Park Now Photography Exhibit in the Pt. Richmond Gallery – Sunday, Aug. 6, 1-5 pm, 145 W. Railroad Ave., Pt. Richmond.
In addition, to live music, a puppet show, speakers and prizes, Sylvia Earle, oceanographer, National Geographic Society Explorer in Residence, Time Magazine Hero for the Planet, and founder of Mission Blue, will be speaking. Sylvia Earle will be in conversation with David Helvarg, author and executive director of Blue Frontier, bluefront.org.
The Fresh Pickled Blue Grass Band will be providing entertainment in the rear garden area. Photographs of Pt. Molate’s flora and wildlife by Jack Scheinman and Jeffrey Peterson are available for purchase. Tony Tamayo’s videography of this landscape will be playing. All proceeds support the Point Molate Park Now! campaign.
For over a decade our East Bay Chapter has been working with Richmond residents and other environmental organizations to conserve Pt. Molate as a regional park. The East Bay Chapter of the California Native Plant Society is an exhibit sponsor along with Blue Frontier, San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club, West Contra Costa County Group of the Sierra Club, Golden Gate Audubon, and Rubicon Bakers.
