Saturday, July 18, 2026 — 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Meet at Fireplace Plaza (below the evergreen lane entrance to the park). Map and Directions.
What to bring: Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided. You’re welcome to bring snacks to enjoy in the park after the volunteer event. Wear long sleeve shirts, pants, and sturdy shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Volunteers will be walking on uneven, and sometimes steep hills/trails. If your group would like to volunteer at a different date/time, please contact the stewards.
Join the Garber Park Stewards twice a month and help restore Garber Park! This 13-acre, City of Oakland park, is home to a healthy native oak habitat. Volunteer in Garber Park and learn how to identify native and non-native plants, learn how to restore an oak habitat, while getting to know your community. In July, the stewards will focus on lowering fire fuels in the park by removing eucalyptus debris and non-native and invasive plants. Volunteers will also help restore a few sections of the trails to ensure they are accessible for park visitors. All skill levels are welcomed (minors do need a waiver which you can find on the Garber Park website). Groups are also welcomed, so invite your neighbors, friends, and family for a fun day of restoration!
Sign up here to volunteer or contact the stewards at gpstewards@gmail.com to let them know of your attendance.
