CNPS East Bay Chapter Elections Are Online in 2021

It’s once again the time of year when we hold our CNPS East Bay Chapter elections. This year we’re asking chapter members to vote on chapter board officers for 2022 and also to approve updated chapter bylaws. We are conducting this year’s elections both online and via USPS mail. Read on for information about online voting. (If we don’t have your email address, or if your stated preference is to not receive email from us, we have already sent your ballot to you via USPS mail.)

On December 15, all CNPS East Bay Chapter members will receive an email message from vote@simplyvoting.com, the online election service we have engaged to help us conduct our election this year. Be sure to add vote@simplyvoting.com to your approved senders or email contacts list, and check your spam folder if you don’t find the message in your inbox. The email message will contain a link to your individual online ballot and instructions on how to vote. Voting will only take 5-10 minutes.

Our chapter treasurer, David Margolies, is managing our online elections this year. If you have any questions or difficulties, contact David at treasurer@ebcnps.org, and he will do his best to assist you.

The rest of this message contains links to biographical statements for chapter officer candidates and text of our updated bylaws. As often happens, there is just one candidate for each officer position, but please do vote! Voting indicates your support for the direction and efforts of our chapter.

CNPS East Bay Chapter Board Officer Candidates
We hold elections every year in December for our five chapter officers: president, vice president, treasurer, recording secretary, and corresponding secretary. You can find biographical statements for all of the board officer candidates by following this link.

Chapter Bylaws Update
You can find the full text of the updated bylaws by following this link. The full text of the current (2008) bylaws is at this link. Another article in this issue of the Bay Leaf, “Updated Chapter Bylaws on the December Ballot” includes a summary of changes incorporated into the updated bylaws.

Please be sure to watch for the email message from vote@simplyvoting.com, follow its instructions, and vote! Thank you for supporting our chapter by participating in this election.
