MEETING PLACE: Evergreen Lane entrance to the park. Parking on Evergreen Lane is very limited, so park at the Claremont Ave entrance and walk through the park to the Evergreen Lane entrance (driving and public transit directions)

Join CNPS East Bay Chapter and Garber Park Stewards on Buy-Nothing Day (Friday, November 28) to list species of several kingdoms. We will start from the park entrance at the end of Evergreen Lane. We will, of course, be counting vascular plants, but please let us know if you or someone you know wants to count bryophytes. We will also be looking for fungi, lichens, and animals, including invertebrates. Birders can band together and start early if they email us before November 28 (restoration@ebcnps.org or gpstewards@gmail.com).
If enough folks show up, our goal will be to pair an experienced observer of a kingdom or phylum with an experienced iNaturalist and/or Calflora user and also with a bioblitzer familiar with the park. No one will have expertise in everything we will be counting in this open-space park in north Oakland, but we can share observations as we post lists and photos.
Not required but helpful: before the bioblitz, download the iNaturalist and/or Calflora Observer Pro app on your phone to record your observations.
