Perennials for Your Garden from Native Here Nursery

Checkerbloom (Sidalcea malviflora). Photo by peganum (CC BY-SA 2.0).

Our chapter’s nonprofit, volunteer-run Native Here Nursery has many locally native perennials available right now. These non-woody species can be planted successfully in the East Bay in late spring (as long as you water them through the summer). There are lovely perennials for any situation, including containers.

Here’s a small sampling of what’s currently available:

For shade: violas (Viola species) and alumroot (Heuchera micrantha)
For sun: mule’s ears (Wyethia species) and checkerbloom (Sidalcea malviflora)
For wet spots: seep monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata) and yerba mansa (Anemopsis californica)
For bees: bee plant (Scrophularia californica) and buckwheat (Eriogonum species)
For butterflies: yampah (Perideridia kelloggii) and yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
For hummingbirds: serpentine columbine (Aquilegia eximia)
…and many more!

Visit Native Here Nursery online 24/7, and come to the nursery to pick up your purchases or browse and choose plants in person.

Open Saturdays 10 am–2 pm
101 Golf Course Drive in Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, CA 94708

All purchases support our CNPS East Bay Chapter.
