Help us Zoom our presentations smoothly! Our monthly speaker programs will be presented online via Zoom for the foreseeable future, and we need a few people to help with each of the presentations. There are two different positions with different tasks.
Zoom Chat Q&A Moderator
Responsibilities: Assist with Zoom or possibly YouTube by monitoring audience members’ chat questions and reading them to the speaker. You’ll be reading the questions aloud, but if you’re camera shy, you don’t have to appear on screen.
Responsibilities: Monitor the waiting room and the audience chat before and during the presentation, be a just-in-case back-up host, and do other behind-the-scenes tasks as needed. It’s unlikely you will be on camera or microphone.
For Both Positions:
Location: Wherever your computer and internet connection are.
Date and Time: Our meetings usually take place on the fourth Wednesday evening of the month except in November (third Wednesday) and December (no meeting). You’ll be helping between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on the night of the meeting.
Qualifications: A computer and a relatively fast internet connection (we can help you optimize your internet speed). Prior knowledge of Zoom is helpful, but all that’s really needed is a willingness to learn.
Time Commitment: Two hours per meeting. Sign up to help with just one meeting or with as many meetings as you’d like.
Training and Support: We’ll teach you all you need to know and give you opportunities to practice in private before the meeting date.
